Master Shake along with Frylock and Meatwad, have appeared in every episode of the series, with the exception of the season five

In the episode "Rabbot Redux", Master Shake calls out "Shake Power, Activate!" while he excretes a whitish substance out of his straw. When Meatwad inquires about the flavor, Master Shake simply replies "it's the flavor of none-of-your-damn-business". In "Hands On a Hamburger", Shake is shown being able to detach his hands from his body, leaving them affixed to a giant cheeseburger to win a contest. In another episode, he jumps from the roof and misses Carl's pool, making his lid fall off. Nothing falls out, but however, he is unable to breathe. In "One Hundred" Shake is shown to be a costume worn by his actual voice actor, Dana Snyder, attached with suspenders. He is also the only one that seems to be aware that the Aqua Teens are part of an 11 minute television program. In the same episode, they switch to a 'Scooby Doo' style animation with ridiculous names, such as Meaty Meaty Moo for Meatwad. Shake himself is renamed Captain Pistachio, leading to further confirmation that he is likely "Pistachio flavored".

. With the exception of being a detective, Shake's careers typically only last one episode.
Shake is extremely rude, selfish, lazy, arrogant, egotistical, vain and ignorant. He often tells pointless lies to get out of doing any work,
and often boasts of having fantastic skills he clearly does not have. He often plays cruel tricks on Meatwad. Shake has even gone to extreme lengths, such as committing suicide to haunt Meatwad as a ghost, or putting Meatwad's pet cat into a microwave. Master Shake is usually always at odds with Frylock. His wrong doings usually catch up with him in the end resulting in great humiliation or him dying in some gruesome manner (yet he always comes back the next episode).
Like Meatwad and Frylock, Shake does not have an official gender but he is strongly depicted as a male
(though Frylock claims in the episode "Ezekial" that he has no penis
). In the episode "Mail Order Bride" he, along with Carl, were both briefly married to a mail-order bride
from Chechnya
named Svetlana. Shake does not appear to have a family, but in Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters it is claimed that he, along with Meatwad and Frylock, are creations of Dr. Weird. The movie also claims their father is a watermelon
, and their mother is a nine-layer bean burrito
. In 2010 during the "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Live" tour, series creator Dave Willis confirmed that Dr. Weird is indeed the creator of Master Shake, Frylock, Meatwad, and Chicken Bittle, making them all brothers.
In a season five
episode Shake claims that he is 30 or 40 years old (despite acting like a teenager), but "Rabbot Redux" mentions that Shake is almost forty years old. Shake is not depicted as being religious, but in the episode "Der Inflatable Fuhrer" it is implied that Shake is a Scientologist

(and a collector of 7-11 Cups related to the movie) in the episode "Broodwich".
Unlike Meatwad and Frylock, Shake does not have his own bedroom
in the house. The only mention of this in the show was at the end of "Handbanana". Because of this, it is implied throughout the show he simply sleeps on the chair or the floor in the living room
in front of the TV. Shake has no official power, except his ability to shoot a substance from his straw, and to occasionally cause items that are released from his hands to spontaneously explode.
