After an absence from the international scene, on 21 June 2010 Dehn declared her interest in playing for the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns. Since 2006 Dehn has played for domestic teams in New Zealand, and was open to the idea of wearing the black dress. She stated if she was asked by Netball New Zealand

Dehn played her first game of netball at the age of 8 at the St John the Baptist netball club, Woy Woy, due to her mother's participation as an umpire. Much of Dehn's junior playing was competing in the Woy Woy Peninsula Netball Association, at the Lemon Grove Park netball courts, Lagoon Street, Ettalong Beach
