All of its programs are taught in English and its vision to the future includes international accreditation and access to international education both at home and abroad for its national and international students. The partner universities are included in the academic ranking of the top 500 universities.
Courses are calculated in credit hours. Each course carries a certain number of credits that are awarded after the successful completion of that course. Credit hours usually equal the number of hours spent in class per week and also reflect the workload or level of difficulty of a course.
Academic regulations govern the relationship between the university and its students. These regulations reflects the university’s effort to build reliable students who are fully aware of the academic system implemented in their university and responsible for tracing such regulations throughout their study period at MIU.
To graduate, a student must pass all required courses and achieve a minimum of 2.00 in both the cumulative and the major GPAs.
Students with a cumulative average of 3.5 or above at graduation are granted a BA/BSc with excellence.
A student has to pay his/her tuition fees before the beginning of the semester.
Scholarships are valid for the first year only and any later discount will be determined upon the student’s academic performance which is directly reflected on his/her cumulative GPA
Students must pay attention and read the Message sent weekly via e-mail to all the university students.
The academic year is divided into two main semesters, with exams during each semester.
A student cannot be promoted to the next year unless he /she succeeds in all faculty courses. The student who fails or exceeds the percentage of absences in more than two courses has to repeat the academic year, accordingly, he /she cannot join the summer semester.
If a student exceeds the percentage of allowed absence or fails in two courses maximum, he /she can register in the summer semester.
If a student fails in one or in both courses he registered in for the summer he / she will repeat the whole academic year.
A student has to achieve a minimum GPA of 2.00 before being promoted to year four.
Language Courses: Language courses are offered for those who are traveling to non-English speaking countries.
Orientation Program: Students traveling abroad are given advice on the experience which they are about to go through. Tips are provided by International Office members and previous exchange students.
Orientation Program: The program aims at introducing them to life in Egypt generally and life at MIU specifically. This takes place throughout the first few days upon arrival by giving the students a tour.
Social Activities: The International Office organizes several events per semester to ensure an active social life for its international students.For example, students are invited to attend the Welcome Party made for freshman students, end of the year party. Students are also invited to participate in the International Day where they represent their country in a one day festival, representing their costumes, food, and culture in a booth designed for them.
Language Program: Interested foreign students who would like to learn the language not only from the books and classes are invited to take part in this program. Foreign students teach their language to MIU students and MIU students in turn teach them the Arabic language.
Amigo Program: Each foreign student has an assigned counter MIU student who takes care of him/her during his/her stay in case of any arising problems and if needed counseling.

Admissions requirements
Students are required to register each semester during the assigned registration period. They select courses in consultation with their academic advisors who approve their academic load before registration.- Credit Hours

The club was founded in Spring 2006 with the assistance of the International Office to create awareness to the students in different faculties to take the opportunity and travel abroad either to spend a semester or to learn a different language during the summer.Visiting Professors
Every semester MIU hosts a number of visiting professors from the universities it is affiliated with worldwide. These professors come for short intensive teaching visits to give MIU students the opportunity to be exposed to various teaching methodologies. Library
The MIU Library was established with the inauguration of the university in 1996. It is divided into two libraries: The main library is located on the fourth floor of the main building; and the scientific library is in the Pharmacy building. The libraries’ mission is to reinforce library collections through the combination of print and electronic resources to keep up the learning experience of students and to increase the capacity of good research. It possesses a collection of books and journals which serves both faculty members and students to meet their needs.See also
