2002 pageant took place April 7, 2002. Each state and the Federal District competed for the their state and went win the title of the Brazilian Crown. The winner would enter Miss Universe 2002
. Miss Brasil Mundo would enter Miss World 2002
. Miss Internacional Brasil would enter Miss International 2002
. The winner would be dethroned after coming back from Miss Universe. She was dethorned due to being married at the time of the pageant. The 1st Runner Up, Taíza Thomsen from Santa Catarina was subsequently crowned Miss Brazil.
