The summit can be reached by the Monte Generoso Railway

that starts from Capolago
in Switzerland, and approaches the summit via the western flank of the mountain. There is also a road that reaches Bellavista (an intermediate station on the railway) from Mendrisio
in Switzerland.
The area is included in the Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments
