division. He has fought around the world in a number of promotions including KSW
and M-1 Global
. He is known for having numerous neo-Nazi tattoos.
. He began training in mixed martial arts
in 2001 after watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship
.
His first professional fight came in April 2002, and he went on to win his first eight fights, mostly as a middleweight
or welterweight
, over the course of two years. His first loss came at the hands of Gegard Mousasi
in September 2004 when he was submitted. He also lost his following three fights after this. After almost two years without a professional fight, he returned to the ring in February 2007 to compete in the lightweight
division which seemed to suit his frame better as he soon returned to the winning category.
In 2008, he joined M-1 Global
to represent Team Finland in the 2008-09 M-1 Challenge Season
, and held a record of four wins and two losses in the competition. Following this, he returned to Finland to fight.
On September 18, 2010, he took part in KSW
's Lightweight tournament in Łódź, Poland
. He defeated Borys Mankowski in the qurter-finals, and in the semi-final, he beat Danny van Bergen
. In the final, he will face Maciej Górski
