Nuts Entertainment
Encyclopedia
Nuts Entertainment was a sketch comedy
television
show in the Philippines
aired every Saturday evenings by GMA Network
(replacing Obra to Thursdays). The show was part of the network's GMA KiliTV block. The show originally aired every Wednesdays.
The show is very popular for its unscripted, spontaneous and off-the-wall party games between two teams of cast members with celebrity guests and audience participants. The party games proved so popular that the sketch comedies were completely dropped to give more time to the games themselves. The games have even evolved from being just played in the studio to popular tourist resorts around the country and done in a sort of "Amazing Race" fashion. Other popular segments of the show is Balakubak : Balita At Kuwentong Bakla, a no-holds bar celebrity hotseat interview portion, and Jak en Poy, a pie-throwing and water balloon battle between two teams of ordinary groups of citizens led by the gays Cookie and Belli based on the outcome of the game of Rock Paper Scissors.
Recently last December 2008, the show has a Christmas Holiday drama special called "Nut's Entertainment Holiday Drama Special", with includes the Nuts casts for their skills in acting and dramatic roles instead of comedy laughs. The said episode was the last to be aired by the show. It has since been replaced by Kapuso Movie Festival.
It was already announced by GMA that a new comedy talk show, Cool Center
will be occupying "Nuts Entertainment"'s time slot starting on February, with Anjo Yllana hosting. The network is also looking for a female host to co-star with Yllana which turned out to be Eugene Domingo.
