Pam Royle

Pamela "Pam" Royle is a British television presenter, journalist and voice coach.
She is currently employed by ITV Tyne Tees & Border
.
and as an assistant librarian at Britannia Royal Naval College
in Dartmouth. Royle is also a qualified Voice Coach (LLCMtd).
. She later joined Central Television
as a continuity announcer and then worked for ITN World News
as a weather and travel correspondent covering Europe and on election night 1987, the world. Following this she became an ITN graduate news trainee.
By 1988, Royle had joined LWT
as part of the launch presenting team for LWT News and latterly as chief anchor for the Friday night magazine programme, Friday Now. A year later, she was asked to rejoin Tyne Tees as a main presenter of the nightly news magazine programme, Northern Life
, alongside Paul Frost. She continued as a main presenter for Tyne Tees Today and the North edition of Tyne Tees News.
In 1996, following the arrival of Mike Neville
, she became a bulletin presenter and main stand-in anchor for Neville. Three years later, she presented the programme's short-lived lifestyle spin-off Primetime, which in spite of good ratings was axed after just four weeks on air. She became the presenter of the North edition of North East Tonight
in 2005. Following the introduction of the two sub-regional versions of the programme. Royle moved to the South edition in September 2006.
Since 25 February 2009, she is the main co-presenter of North East Tonight
and Lookaround
, alongside Ian Payne
. Following the merger of ITV Tyne Tees and ITV Border - creating ITV Tyne Tees & Border
.
Alongside her work on news, Royle has worked on a number of other regional programmes on ITV Tyne Tees including Your Town on the Telly, Weather or not with Bob Johnson, Northern Skies and North East Today. She has most recently presented a regular feature series called Our Gardens for both editions of North East Tonight in early 2009.
Pam celebrated 21 years as a newsreader in the North East in September 2010.
In recent years Royle has Media trained many business people to cope with interview techniques for TV,Radio and Newspapers together with on screen appearances.
Royle has Hosted and Compered Corporate Events including The Northern Business Awards,Flavours of Hambledon.
for sixteen years and was a member of the advisory board.
Royle is an Advanced Motorist(IAM), Royal Yachting Association(RYA)Qualified in Personal Watercraft,RYA VHF Radio Operators Licence and the RYA International Powerboat Licence.

Biography
Royle was brought up mostly in North Yorkshire, but also in South Africa and Devon. After graduating in joint hons English Lang/Lit from Newcastle University she taught English and Drama in a Chinese girls school in Hong Kong. Royle spends a lot of her own time working for North East Charities. She is a patron of The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS), NELD (North East Ladies Day), Durham St John's Ambulance, TFM and Magic 1170's Cash for Kids, The Evening Chronicle's Sunshine Fund, North-east and Evening Gazette's Make a Child Smile. Royle also helped to promote the work of the Salvation ArmySalvation Army
