Piala Indonesia is the professional annual cup competition for football
clubs in Indonesia
. Originally, it started from the amateur football era in 1985. The Football Association of Indonesia
(PSSI) organised the full professional cup competition from 2005 until now. The competition was named Copa Indonesia during 2005–2009 and was changed back to Piala Indonesia in 2010.
Traditionally, this tournament involves all the clubs from the whole layers in football competition

The 2011 edition is initially scheduled to start on late April, 2011. It subsequently reschedulef to start on September, 2011. However, there is no clear sign that this competition will be held.
