Primera C Colombia
Encyclopedia
The Primera C is the third division of the Association of Professional football Clubs of Colombia
(DIMAYOR). It is run by Difutbol (División Aficionada del Fútbol Colombiano).
When Primera C began in 1991, there was a system of promotions and demotions between it and Primera B
. This system ceased from 2002 when, for administrative and economic reasons, the Primera C tournament was not played. Instead, Primera C is played by reserves of the major teams, to give them the opportunity to show themselves to the people and their teams, though without the possibility of promotion.
