History

On December 1958, the delegates of the Southeast Asian Bishops' Conference unanimously resolved to establish a radio station that will serve the countries of Southeast Asia

. Eleven years after that, Radio Veritas was inaugurated on April 11, 1969.

The Federation of Asian Bishops' Conference (FABC) was entrusted with the operations of RVA right from its beginning in 1970. This was confirmed by FABC's governing body, the General Assembly, in 1974.

As of now, Radio Veritas embarked on different means of delivering the Word of God. It started using new technology such as internet and webcasting and plans to upgrade to digital broadcasting.

however, after 38 years of broadcasting, RVA goals remain a commitment that is constantly renewed and invigorated, that is to "proclaim the message of God's love to the peeoples of Asia". Truly, an endless commitment to God for the service of the peoples of Asia.

The programming of Radio veritas Asia is a committed response to the challenge of the Holy Father (Ecclesia in Asia) to make the station an excellent instrument of mission.

The People Power revolution of 1986

In 1986, Radio veritas, through its Domestic Service, experienced its finest hours when it played a key role in the unfolding revolution that was run by radio. The station was instrumental in dismantling the dictatorship, thus enabling democracy to be restored in the Philippines.
