election in 2009 he supported his Jalandhar candidate Hansraj Hans, and lashed out at the opposition Congress party on issues such as lack of action on 26/11 info, Money bribes from Congress party on the Trust Vote, and other such issues. He repeatedly raised the BJP slogan "Mazbuth Netha, Nirnayak Sarkaar Bhartiya Janta Party (Meaning Strong Leader, Decisive Government)
He also dawned on the fact that even though Congress having 4 ministers in Punjab Govt, did not succeed in creating a better Jalandhar, whereas when BJP/SAD were in Govt Sh. Manoranjan Kalia, Local Bodies Minister had given Jalandhar City projects like Bus Terminal, Pushpa Gujral Science City, Medical Collage and so on.
