The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) is an independent academic institution of Lund University
established in 1986 after monumental humanitarian work of Raoul Wallenberg
. The mission of the institute is to promote universal respect for international human rights law
and international humanitarian law
by means of reseach, academic education, and international development, and intent to be a centre of excellence meeting the highest international standards in all its fields of operation, contributing to the eveloppment of societies based on a human rights culture.
In addition to research and academic education programmes, RWI has provided development programme for institutions in developing countries, incluging Asia Pacific Forum
, manily with the support of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
(Sida).
