The Rayeen are a Sunni Muslim
community and are found in the state of Uttar Pradesh

Mostly educated and big cultivarors,Rayeen traces their origin from Syria Arab
claiming relationship with Pakistani landlord Rayeen Community.
Many members of Rayeen community have migrated to Pakistan
after independence have settled in Karachi
, Sindh
.
. Their ancestors were Rajput
s, living in Uch, near the city of Multan
, in Pakistan
, but were overthrown by a powerful enemy. They fled and settled in on the Ghaggar about Sirsa, and held the whole of the Ghaggar valley from Bhatner
upwards to near Tohana
, being in possession of 116 villages. The region was afflicted by a major famine in 1759, and as a result of this famine and attacks by the Bhattis and Ranghar
s, they left the region and settled in Bareilly
and Pillibhit
districts. These Ghaggar Rayeen may be connected with the much larger Arain
tribe, which was historically settled along the banks of the Sutlej
river, not far from the settlement of the Rayeen.
There are also several other traditions, one makes them to be Arab
s, originally settled in the Rayee mountains, located somewhere in Arabia.

In Pilibhit District
, they are found in the villages of Sardarnagar, Karghaina, Sukatia, Dheram, Udaipur, Harraypur, Dang, Bhainsaha, Turkania, Dhundri and Nurpur. There are also several villages in north of the town of Bisalpur

In Udham Singh Nagar District they are settled in the town of Sitarganj

In Bareilly District
, they occupied several villages near the town of Baheri

In Rampur District
their villages are Mandanpur and Bhaisodi.
Presently many have migrated to cities such as New Delhi
and Lucknow
to build their careers and have established their homes.In the year 2010 Rayeen community of Delhi organised a Meeting of 250 Delhi and NCR families at Okhla Batla House Baraat Ghar in South Delhi.
and Barielly is about 5000 and they were mainly classified as cultivators. Immigration of Rayeens from punjab took place up to late 19th century. Within a short period of fifty years this small community cultivate large area of land and established their own villages. With in short span of time many of them established themselves as big landlords of the area. Mr. Immtyaz ahmad of village khamaria was elected as Member of legislative council in governorship of Sir Nawab Ahmad Said Khan of Chattari in 1933. He was also awarded with a title of Khan Bahadur. Rayeens were known for their hard work. They were considered as sturdy race along with sikh jats, Muslim rajputs in punjab by Britishers. They were able to get allotment of big share of agriculture land just by hard working skills and favours shown on them by British administration. At the time of partition Rayeens were one of the prosperous and educated community of Pilibhit according to their percentage.
