The picturesque place has lush green meadows scattered all around. The town is renowned for its Sugar Factory and the Ram Leela Dushera festival held every year. There are a number of educational institutions providing good quality education in various fields like engineering, medical, agriculture and others.In the city there are various historical places, one of the most famous is The Duve Talab, which is approximately 200 years old.

Mr. Tulai Singh Gangwar and Mr. Jagdish Prasd Gangwar won the President Teacher Award for their excellent contribution to the educational field.
There are various Inter colleges and one Government Degree College in the city namely Shri Ram Chandra Municipal Inter College Bisalpur, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is best college in the district according to CBSE results. The admission process is based upon JNV Selection Test conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, MHRD, Govt. of India.
