PT.ANI (Aero Nusantara Indonesia). Riau Airlines will also receive a Boeing 737-300 by leasing. It will expand its fleet in this year, due to government rules who required all airlines operated in Indonesia to have at least 5 to 10 aircraft.

Riau Airlines was established on 12 March 2002 and started operations in December of the same year. It was the only one of Indonesia's commercial airlines headquartered outside of JakartaJakarta
