Before founding Pharos, Bob Crants was involved with Goldman Sachs

He was a founding member of the Special Investments Group where he helped develop and market equity derivative products, exchange funds, merchant bankking funds, and more, totalling over 6 billion in funds raised. In appreciation of his work with Goldman Sachs, he received the Goldman Sachs Banking Division Innovation Award in 1993.
While working with Pharos Capital, he and Michael Devlin conceived the idea to raise money for the Louisiana Education Assistance Fund in order to help post-Katrina education and rebuilding effort.
