Two years later he started in Eindhoven in his homecountry at the 2008 European Aquatics Championships. Where he started in the 200 m freestyle reaching a 13th position and in the 4×200 m freestyle ending up 9th in the heats just missing out for the final and the 2008 Summer Olympics
