History
Barangay Sentinela was created as an independent barangay on July 8, 1968 and separated from barangay Tapal.According to some old folks, the name Sentinela was derived from a man who once lived in the place who wrought heroic deeds. This man with a mystic power, by his own will, always protects and guards the settlers from being taken captive by invading sea bandits. Local inhabitants call the place Sentinela from the word sentinel
