Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management (신한 BNP Paribas 자산운용 in 한글) is an asset management company headquartered in Seoul, Korea. It is a joint venture between Shinhan Financial Group
and the French financial group, BNP Paribas
. In January 2009, the company was created when Shinhan BNP Paribas Investment Trust Management and SH Asset Management merged. Shinhan BNP Paribas Investment Trust Management was created in 1996 as Shinhan Investment Trust Management and in 2002, the name changed to Shinhan BNP Paribas when BNP Paribas acquired a 50% stake.
As the first CEO of Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management, Choi Bhang-Gil was appointed on January 2, 2009. Prior to joining Shinhan BNP Paribas, Choi was deputy CEO of SH Asset Management.
Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management has now more than 187 employees and more than KRW 34 trillion of assets under management

- 2002/10/24 : BNP Paribas acquires 50% of Shinhan Investment Trust Management.

- 2006/04: Shinhan Bank becomes the majority owner of SH Asset Management.
