Demographics

As of the 2001 Indian census, Sillod had a population of 43,859, of which 52 per cent were male and 48 per cent female. The city has an average literacy rate of 65 per cent, higher than the national average of 59.5% with a male literacy rate of 73 per cent and that for females 56 per cent. Seventeen per cent of Sillod's population is under six years of age.

The villages of Palshi, Bharadi and Borgaon Bazar have had a major impact on shaping the economic prospects of Sillod tehsil. Palashi village has implemented the Tanta Mukti Scheme of the Maharashtra Government.
