Sir Henry Oxenden, 1st Baronet

Sir Henry Oxenden, 1st Baronet (1614–1686) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons
variously between 1645 and 1660.
Oxenden was the son of Sir James Oxenden and his wife Margart Nevinson, daughter of Thomas Nevinson of Estry, Kent. He was knighted on 11 July 1660.

for Winchelsea
in the Long Parliament
from 1645 to 1648 and for Kent
in the Protectorate Parliaments in 1654 and 1656. He was later elected for Sandwich
in 1660. He was created Baronet
in on 6 May 1678.
Oxenden married firstly Mary Baker daughter of Robert Baker of St Martin in the Fields, by whom he had a daughter, and secondly Elizabeth Meredith daughter of Sir William Meredith of Leeds Abbey, Kent. They had children James
and Henry who successively succeedd to the baronetcy and George.
