Stella is sent by her employers Lascelles Bank to take over the day-to-day running of the Glenbogle Estate after the huge debt of the estate. The Head Ranger Duncan McKay instantly takes a fancy to her, but Stella takes a fancy to Laird Archie MacDonald
. She annoys everyone and forces Duncan, Lexie McTavish
and Golly Mackenzie
to go on strike, and eventually Archie. However Stella agrees with Archie to get the trio back after she has a cold and hungry night. After a failed court case against Golly, Hector

, Stella is chucked out of her hotel by Duncan's Aunty Liz, and ends up at Glenbogle House to the horror of Hector. When Glenbogle gets back on its feet, Stella's boss decides to give back Glenbogle back to Archie considering the Glenbogle Ball goes well. Stella decides to ruin the ball so she can stay with Archie, but Lexie saves the day by correcting all the things Stella ruined and tells Archie to speak to Stella. Stella tells Lexie and Archie the truth, then leaves Glenbogle, which is now under Archie's lairdship again. Later on that night, Archie realises he loves Lexie, not Stella, and proposes to the housekeeper.
