A large Metcard
vending machine is located at the front of the building on platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. No Metcard vending machine is located on platform 2. A footbridge is located at the Bendigo end of the station, whilst a disused water tower sits adjacent to platform 2. Even though Sunbury is part of Zone 2 it is still operated by V/Line
and like many other regional stations it features the new Viclink style signs. From 2012 it will become the terminus for the sunbury metro trains part of the Sunbury electrification project.
