Post Independence
After reorganization of the Ministry of Civil Aviation the State Air Company of the Republic of Tajikistan (SART) was founded. Current situation
The Tajik Air brand has faced intense competition from rivals in the area, which has worsened since the Tajikistan aviation sector was deregulated in September 2006. The airline carried only 320,000 passengers in the first nine months of 2006, a notable fall over 2005.
