The Big Channel was a cable channel for childrens from Argentina belonging to the company Pramer, in association with the former importer of toys Cartan.

Early years

Although the channel was presented in mid-1989, the debut of the channel was in early 1990. It quickly became one of the first cable channel for children in Argentina, and had a 24-hour programming. He succeeded CableMágico, the signal to children that Cablevision (Argentina) had so far.

The main objective was to promote signal Cartan imported toys, which were mainly manufactured by the U.S. company Tyco, for which Cartan was an exclusive distribution contract in Argentina. All comercials breaks showed the sign advertising a commercial letter, followed by other Tyco products remembered as SpyTech, Hit Sticks, Typhoon, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Domino Rally, among others. These commercials, Tyco original and dubbed into Spanish, are equally or more cartoons reminded that the channel aired. As an example of this strategy is sufficient to recall the advertising Godson Day, in which the point of the letter "I" channel logo.

During its glory, the signal varied merchandise brought to market, among which stand out the CD entitled "A Jugar y a Cantar con el Big (A Play and sing with the Big)" in 1993 and the monthly "Big Magazine".

 in 1995, during the reign of Magic Kids as the most watched cable channel in Argentina. His return was humble, and that became a sign of low-budget satellite Magic Kids. Your objective in this period, was broadcast series unattractive to the public, who Pramer was forced to buy "promotional packages" along with others that it was interested in Magic for Kids. So The Big Channel became a channel transmitting series of second level or Kids Magic series had stopped broadcasting but whose contracts had not yet expired.
