Magic Kids (TV channel)
Encyclopedia
Magic Kids was a well known Argentinan cable channel where they were issued cartoons, television series and anime series programs for children and adolescents. The channel was founded, on January 12, 1995 and went off the air May 24, 2006, citing economic problems and lack of rating.
During it's most successful period, the signal varied launched merchandising, among which stand out the yo-yo Channel (1997), the magic cube and the monthly Magic Kids.
However, this inexperience could be overcome, because in those days, thanks to programs such " Power Rangers
"," X-Men
"and" Spider-Man
", the channel became one of the most watched of the day. The idea was always to have "canned" (term used in the television industry to refer to sets purchased, and that used to come in tins similar to those in the movies).
Moreover, the fact that it was a local landmark enabled it to quickly adapt to the tastes of viewers, something that failed to pan-regional signals.
So it was that Magic Kids began with it's first cartoon: Hugo, which premiered the year after the debut of the channel and stayed until closing. The same thing happened with the Nivel X , which began with the singer driving Symbol, and then followed Lionel Campoy and Natalia Dim Finally, the third program of its own to appear on Magic Kids was " Anime Club " , led first by Leandro Oberto and then by Mariela Carril.
In September of 2001 , the outbreak of the economic crisis in Argentina , which greatly hurt the signal. However, in the same month, it began broadcasting to all Latin America , becoming a pan-regional. This brought about a problem, because if Magic Kids wanted to continue with their regular programming would have to pay for the right to broadcast the series for the region. Instead, they opted to replace the old series programs that were affordable, which alienated many viewers. In addition, stopping issuing anime and unable to compete with other channels, Magic Kids began to lose steam slowly. In early 2006 , stopped producing its own series, and in May of that year, the signal went off the air. Pramer decided to air it out for lack of rating.
