At the time of the club's formation, Norman Jones was the owner of Rollason Aircraft & Engines which was also based at Croydon. This company bought many ex-military aircraft in the 1950s and civilianised them and sold them or passed them to the Tiger Club to operate. These included the Tiger Moth G-ACDC which was the third Tiger Moth built in 1933, it had served the RAF
