Under Lacavera's leadership, Globalive has been named one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies six years in a row. In 2004, Globalive was ranked by Profit Magazine
as the "Fastest Growing Company in Canada", and in 2006 Globalive was named by Canadian Business
as one of "Canada's 30 Best Places to Work".
Lacavera founded the Shamba Foundation in 2007, which provides charitable groups
with free venue space on top of Globalive's headquarters. Lacavera is also a founding contributor to Galleria Italia, a Frank Gehry
designed atrium at the heart of newly renovated Art Gallery of Ontario
. In 2008, He was awarded the designation of Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity
by the Italian government.
Lacavera has been a member of Young Presidents' Organization
since 2000, and in 2006 was named one of Canada's Top 40 under 40.
