town villain Colin McIver, arrived in town during the reading of Colin's will. Many Llanview citizens took a disliking to Troy, with Sam knocking him out and Lindsay
trying to suffocate him. Troy moved into an apartment, where he again fought with Sam, who pushed him out a window. This caused years of rivalry between them.
. Troy wanted to earn Nora's trust by curing her son, Matthew Hanen
of a rare muscle disease.
All citizens of Llanview believed Colin was to blame for Nora's memory loss, but Troy was convinced it was Lindsay. He gave Nora pills which enhanced her memory, although she could still not remember the moment that Lindsay injected her. Troy tried many tactics, including using a truth serum, prying it out of her, and even pretending he was in love with her, but nothing he did would work. Troy finally proposed to Lindsay and the two planned on flying to Paris
to wed. However, he faked his own kidnapping and pretended that Colin took him to a fun house outside of Llanview. Lindsay went there, and Troy used secret rooms and passageways to trick her into thinking he was both Colin and Troy.
Lindsay finally confessed, on tape, and Troy refused to tell her where the tape was. After this, she attacked Troy with a crowbar and tied him to a huge wheel. He was bitten by a Black Widow Spider, but survived. While on the wheel, a young Starr Cramer Manning
found him and tried to convince people he was there, but no one believed her. She continued to bring him food, until Sam finally learned the truth. He managed to save Troy just before a fire destroyed the building.
Lindsay and Nora found the tape, and fought over it. Sam and Troy arrived and stopped them, with Lindsay later being arrested. A desperate Lindsay tried to kill Troy, but accidentally killed Sam instead. To keep her away, he drugged her to make her seem delusional. He finally became obsessed with Nora and tried to force into committing suicide with him, but it didn't work and he later arrested. Troy escaped from prison twice, but was apprehended both times.
