Van Buren High School is a public high school in Van Buren, Arkansas
. In a handwritten letter this month, Van Buren High School Principal Becky Guthrie asked 20 high school employees to become prayer warriors with her to resolve the crises at the school. The school underwent a major development project that was finished in 2009. The project added a number of new classrooms, a new basketball facility (Clair Bates Arena), and a new performing arts center. The school's mascot is the Pointer (hunting dog), and its school colors are kelly green and white. It currently competes in the 7-A/6-A conference of the Arkansas Athletics Association, offering many competitive sports, including cross country football

The Van Buren High School Pointers are well known throughout Arkansas, as they have won numerous titles, such as the 2006 & 2007 State Cheer Championship, 2008 State Dance Championship, 2005-2006 State Soccer Championship, 1996 State Football Championship, 2010 State Bowling Championship,2010 State Girls Cross Country Championship, and the 7A/6A Central Conference Boys Basketball Championship. The Pointer Pride Marching Band has won many marching contests, including Broken Arrow Invitational Grand Champions in 2010, and continues to grow as one of the leading marching programs in the state.
