The Venezuelan Summer League is a minor league baseball
rookie
league which operates in Carabobo and Aragua states, Venezuela
.
The VSL was created in 1997, after several operational years of the Major League Baseball's academies in the country. The VSL followed the Dominican Summer League
as an alternative to improve the development of the young prospects in their early years in organized Baseball.
The league is closed to all draft eligible players (e.g. players from the United States

) with the exception of two players from Puerto Rico. Currently, there are players from Argentina

Each team has a roster limit of 35 active players; at least 10 must be pitcher

Teams
The six member teams plays a 64 game regular schedule, beginning on May 15 and ending on August 6. In the play-offs, the winner and runner up teams meet in a best-of-three games series for championship.Team | MLB Affiliation |
