He and his family migrated to the US in 70’s, where he co-owned four gasoline stations and was into real estate and landscaping. In addition, he managed the $i.5-million Palm Plaza Restaurant.
He ran for the Senate of the Philippines
during the 2007 Philippine general election, under the KBL
banner, but lost.

Wood has two children with his second wife, Ofelia Mercado Ponce, whom he met during his stay in the United States. Together they have a son, Simon, and a daughter, Sydney Victoria.See also
