He moved to Internazionale in 1987 but did not do very well, and soon moved to Girondins Bordeaux

 in 1988 where he again disappointed. His career was revived by a successful move to Auxerre in 1989, which led to a return to Italy with Torino in 1991. Scifo then moved to AS Monaco before ending his career with his first club, Anderlecht. He retired in 2000 after being diagnosed with chronic arthritis
