, broadcasting on digital channel 19. Prior to going digital it also used channel 19 and before that, channel 65. It was founded in 1989 on channel 53. Owned by Radio One, its predominant programming is "Indy's Music Channel", a selection of rock and rap-music videos. Religious programming under the banner "IMC Goes to Church" airs much of the day on Sundays. The station is carried by several Central Indiana cable television providers. Its studios are located at Radio One's Indiana headquarters, located at 21 E. St. Joseph Street in downtown Indianapolis. Its transmitter and antenna are sited at 2255 N. Hawthorne Lane on the city's near-northeast side.

History

The station was founded March 7, 1989 as W53AV, and branded on air as either WAV53 or as Hoosier TV 53. The station aired a variety of programming, including public-domain movies, Cincinnati Reds

 baseball and was also the local affiliate to carry ECW

 Hardcore TV on Sunday evenings. In 1999 the station moved from Channel 53 to Channel 65 and took on the new low power calls W65DW. The station was purchased from Hoosier Radio and TV in 2000, and was given the call sign WDNI-LP in 2001, which also signified the inauguration of Indy's Music Channel.

. Because it became a class-A station after it went digital, its broadcast callsign was not given an -LD or -CA suffix, but rather the awkward and rarely-used "-CD" suffix.
