They carry the Phil Kornbult Sports Talk Show out of Columbia. The station also has a local sports talk call-in show weeknights from 8-10PM. Sunday mornings and evenings feature local church broadcasts. The station has much local community programming and news. On Saturday mornings, the station has live listener call-in shows until 11am. WRIX-FM also airs a live Christian talk show every Thursday Night at 10-11PM.

The show became the station's most popular program and one of Upstate`s S.C.`s top-rated morning shows. Lockridge, one of the first female radio personalities, received the Order of the Palmetto from Gov.

Phillips, the station's founder and operator, died in August 1997. His wife took over and then she died about ten months later. Their daughter took over management of the station. She sold the station in late 2005 to a local business owner who kept all operations mostly the same at the station.
The News–Talk format was aired on WRIX-FM from 2000 to 2008. On September 13, 2008, the talk format was shifted to WANS-AM
and the FM station adopted Jones Radio Networks

format.
In 2011 WRIX-FM returned to talk.
