Walter Campbell Mackenzie, OC
(August 17, 1909December 15, 1978) was a Canadian
surgeon
and academic.
He was a professor and chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta
’s Faculty of Medicine
. From 1959 to 1973, he was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
In 1949, he was a founding director and shareholder of the Edmonton Eskimos
.
In 1970, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada
"for his contribution to surgery and medical education".
The Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre in Edmonton

is named in his honour. The Centre was opened under the Conservative government of Peter Lougheed.
