Warnes River is a river on the Northern Tablelands

The headwaters of the river rise in high country on the eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range
approximately 20 kilometres east of Yarrowitch
. It starts at an elevation of 1,010 metres, flows generally west northwest then north entering the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park
and after about 19 km (11.8 mi) to its confluence with the Yarrowitch River
about 16 km (9.9 mi) north east of Yarrowitch. The Warnes River ends at an elevation of 437 m before merging with the Yarrowitch River.
The Yarrowitch River joins the Apsley River
about 30 km (18.6 mi) north east of Tia. The Apsley River then joins the Macleay River
which is about 24 km (14 miles) south west of the locality of Lower Creek.
The entire length of the Warnes River is within the boundaries of Walcha Local Government Area
and Vernon County
.
The country along Warnes River is a grazing area used principally for the rearing of beef cattle.
