World Summit Award

The World Summit Award is a global initiative for selecting and promoting the world's best electronic media
and applications. It sees the bridging of the digital divide
and narrowing of the "Content Gap" as its overall goal and, as of 2006, involves representatives from 168 countries on each continent.
Putting its focus on cultural identity and diversity, the WSA looks for multimedia
projects that effectively and creatively work with quality contents and digitize
educational, scientific and cultural heritage.
It is held in the framework of and in cooperation with the World Summit on the Information Society
(WSIS).
(1) e-government and agency: the project to serve the citizens, government agencies and public services, government and public services to enhance information exchange and communication of quality and efficiency; strengthen citizens in information society decision-making participation.
(2) electronic health and the environment: to communicate over multi-party cooperation, such as the use of ICT to develop consumer-centric health management, and network technologies to manage health problems and health systems.
(3) e-learning and education: to meet and learn more in this complex global society to acquire knowledge and skills requirements; through interactive, personalized and distance learning, etc. affect the schools, universities and other educational institutions; create active e-learning community, the target model and solutions to corporate training, support their development in multimedia first step.

The Division will be responsible for nominating a panel of experts nominated eight best electronic content and the most creative entry sites or information items. "World Summit Award" panel of experts will be nominated from the eight groups selected for the final strength of the last five winners of the 40 world's best e-content sites or information sites.

The collection project for the global contest, any contest in line with the standard website, business, information or individuals are invited to participate in the project.
