North Toronto Christian School was previously named The Yorkland School. This is due to a merge between the two schools in the 2011/2012 school year.

The school is associated with the ACSI league, Associate Christian Schools International.

With their motto "Building Youth Through Truth", North Toronto Christian School is an evangelical Christian high school, but the school is not affiliated with any specific church or denomination. The Bible is integrated into the curriculum and all matters regarding discipline, counseling and school life are governed by a commitment to Biblical principles and values.

North Toronto Christian School is located on a 5 acres (20,234.3 m²) campus at the intersection of Highway 401 and Highway 404 at the heart of Metro Toronto. It occupies a former commercial office building and sports complex with a total of 80000 square feet (7,432.2 m²) of space on two floors.

Previously in 2010-11, there were renovations to make the school bigger and have more classrooms because North Toronto Christian School moved in. This is because it was purchased and is being made into an area of 21 detached homes and a single street.

The school day at NTCS begins at 8:45 AM and finishes at 3:05 PM for grades 7-12.
For JK-6 the day also begins at 8:45 AM and finished at 3:15 PM.
Uniforms are required.
