to represent the voiced alveolo-palatal affricate /dʑ/, similar to the pronunciation of ⟨j⟩ in "jet".
Dje corresponds to the Latin letter D with stroke
(Đ đ) in the Serbian Latin alphabet, and is transliterated thus. It is sometimes transliterated as ⟨dj⟩, although many consider this to be incorrect.
