. Around the school is a vast park area, a large field as well as the Fraser Heights Recreation Centre. The school is known for its high academic reputation in various subjects as well as its music and sports programs which have also been high ranking. When the school first opened, it was only designed for 1000 people, but currently there are around 1700 students attending Fraser Heights. The school's student-to-size ratio has been one of the biggest criticisms towards the School District, who claimed that this was of utmost importance yet have not taken action over the years. Possible expansion plans have been rejected by the school board but in Fall of 2008 the school issued a petition demanding the increase in size of the school, which subsequently failed.

Programs

Fraser Heights Secondary offers a wide variety of academic, athletic, and fine arts programs that have gained modest acclaim. The Fraser Heights Hockey Team has an outstanding record, winning the Zwick Cup 5 years in a row. The Grade 8 and Junior badminton programs have also won the Surrey Championships 5 years in a row and the Fraser Valleys for 4 years in a row. The volleyball progam is excellent, the Junior and Grade 8 boys volleyball teams have won 3 Surrey championships consecutively, and the junior boys won Fraser Valleys. The Senior team respectively placed 3rd in the province during the 2010 BC AAA Badminton Championships hosted in Victoria. The Junior boys rugby team has quailifed 2nd in Surrey and, will be heading for the Fraser Valleys soon.
