Gaetano moved from Italy with his wife and eventually had 10 children in total and over 40 grandchildren. His printing business, St. Joseph Communications
would eventually become what is the largest private communications company in Canada.
He was named a Knight of the Order of St. Sylvester in 1992, and a Member of the Order of Canada
in 1998.
He has received two honorary doctorates from Canadian Universities.
Gaetano Gagliano was also given the title of Commendatore
which is one of Italy's highest honorary rankings.
