. The Pindus
mountains lies to the west. Gomfoi is located southwest of the city of Trikala
and is also connected with the main road with that city. The Thessalian Plain dominates the eastern portion.
After World War II
and the Greek Civil War
, the population steadily declined as residents moved to larger towns and cities and the richest countries in the world.
