Executive Development Programs

IMI offers a range of custom-made in-company training programs, as well as open public training programs for practicing managers. These programs are designed to enable talented professionals, to reach responsible positions in their organizations.

Admission Procedure

Admission tests for IMI are conducted through CAT. The Institute also accepts GMAT scores for Foreign Students and Non Resident Indian Students. Apart from the test scores, candidates are also evaluated in Group Discussion and Personal Interview for admission shortlists.

Centres of Excellence at IMI

IMI has set up Centres of Excellence to explore the trans-sectoral and interface areas for enriching knowledge and avenues for application of knowledge. These centers are addressing matters related to Social Sector Governance, Management of Innovation and Technology and Market Solutions to Poverty.

Centre for Social Sector Governance (CSSG)

It was set up in 2004 to further teaching and research in issues connected with socio-economic development, governance, poverty, employment, educational health.

Centre for Management of Innovation and Technology (CMIT)

It was set up in 2004 to further teaching and research in issues connected with R&D, innovation, technology management, knowledge management, etc. Activities under CMIT cover research, publications, database maintenance; capacity building through education and training programs; network building; consultancy services and the creation of an innovation and technology movement.

Center for Market Solutions to Poverty

The Centre for Market Solutions to Poverty aims to provide an apex platform for coordinated response to the opportunities and challenges at the BOP (base of the pyramid). The focus would be on integrated business solutions, enabling public policy response, civil society action and development cooperation activities of the multiple agencies.

IMI is home to eminent faculty that draws upon its strong roots in academia and industry experience. It currently stands at 41 in number across all disciplines.The faculty at IMI is an eclectic, learned and committed team of professionals drawn from varied streams of discipline. They bring with them years of experience that enrich the curricula and contribute to the Institute's excellence

IMI has also attracted and continues to attract eminent scholars, academicians, practicing managers and administrators as visiting faculty. IMI has, therefore, acquired considerable flexibility in offering a wide choice of elective courses.

IMI alumni have distinguished themselves in business and academia as well as in governmental and non-governmental organizations. Student activities and campus events

Kritva is the annual management and cultural festival at IMI. A widely attended festival, Kritva is a 60-hour fest with two star nights and a host of cultural and management games where students from the reputed B-schools of India participate.

The students also keep on organizing one or other event every month.

Facilities and resources

The aesthetically designed IMI campus creates a stimulating atmosphere conducive to the all-round development of students. The amphitheatre is the nodal point of campus life around which the academic block, residence and recreational facilities are located.

The centrally air-conditioned academic complex consists of spacious lecture halls, the Tata Chemicals Computer Centre, BOC Conference Room, RPG Auditorium, Williamson Magor Library, faculty chambers and administrative offices. The IMI campus has two exclusive high-tech computer labs. The campus also has high-speed internet connectivity.

The Williamson Magor Library & Information Service (WMLIS) offers access to a wide range of printed and electronic sources with emphasis on electronic delivery of information. The library has about 19,500 volumes covering not only aspects of management and business, but also related parts of economics, accounting, finance, behavioral sciences and information technology.

The modern residential accommodation includes well-furnished rooms, excellent mess facilities and recreational facilities including a modern air-conditioned gymnasium.

Placements

IMI usually holds its final placement process during the month of January. Summer internships are welcomed from September onwards.
