Population

The national census in 2002 estimated the population of Katakwi District at about 118,900. In 2008, the World Food Program, quoting the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), estimated the population of the district at approximately 145,300. It is calculated that the annual population growth rate in the district is 2.8%. The estimated population of Katakwi District in 2010 was approximately 153,600. See table below:

Economic activities
