Kimberly Pressler is an entertainment presenter and former Miss USA
. She is one of few women to win both the Miss New York Teen USA
and Miss New York USA
titles.
. Her first major pageant title came in 1994 when she won the Miss New York Teen USA
title and participated in Miss Teen USA 1994
. At the national pageant that year, she failed to make the top 10. She ranked 45th in the preliminaries.
In 1999, Pressler went on to win the Miss New York USA
pageant, which allowed her to compete at the Miss USA
pageant held in Branson, Missouri
. She became the fourth woman from her state to win the Miss USA
title, beating press favorites such as Miss Tennessee USA
Morgan Tandy High (the eventual 1st runner-up) and Miss California USA
Angelique Breaux (the 2nd runner-up and later American representative and semi-finalist at the Miss World
pageant).
Pressler later competed in the Miss Universe
pageant held in Trinidad and Tobago
. She became only the second Miss USA
not to place at Miss Universe
in the history of the pageant, where her preliminary performance was generally regarded as poor and too conservative. She did however manage to place 19th in the preliminaries in a field of 84 contestants.
Pressler later moved to Los Angeles
, where she embarked on career in entertainment as a television host and LIVE reporter. Within a month of giving up her title as Miss USA, Kimberly landed her first national hosting job on MTV
for "Senseless Acts of Video" where she remained for 3 seasons.
hosting numerous shows including "Senseless Acts of Videos", "Fast and Famous" and "Becoming", Kimberly was hired by NBC in 2003 to host "Adrenaline X", an hour long series about extreme sports.
From 2004 to 2006 Kimberly hosted and pit reported for both the "WPSA ATV Championships" on ESPN
as well as the "WPSA Snowcross Championships" on the SPEED Channel. In addition, Kimberly was the pit reporter/host for the "Red Bull X Fighters" tour for 3 seasons (2006-2008). She traveled throughout the world hosting the LIVE freestyle motocross competition that routinely brought in crowds of 40,000 fans. (www.redbullxfighters.com)
In 2007, Pressler was heard as a reporter for the SummerX Games XIII
for ESPN
and ABC
in 2008, Kimberly had the honor to be the only female pit reporter to take part in all 3 X Games
events held in the US starting with the "Winter X Games" in Aspen, Colorado, "NAVY Moto X Championships" in San Diego, California and again for the "Summer X Games" in Los Angeles. Kimberly pit reported for X games until her maternity leave at the end of 2008.
For 2009, Kimberly was brought on to be the host of the "ACIS Fitness National Championships"http://www.acisports.com/ for FOX College Sports. She again was asked to host/pit report for the Texas stop of the "Red Bull X Fighters" tour http://www.redbullxfighters.com for ABC Sports. In mid-2009 Kimberly was also the pit reporter for ESPN2
and ABC with its Traxxas TORC Series
off-road racing coverage.
Pressler has also hosted a number of Miss USA
state pageants, including Miss Massachusetts USA
for 6 consecutive years (2000-2005) and stays actively involved in the pageant world judging state pageants for the Miss USA & Miss Teen-USA systems, including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kansas and Washington.
Kimberly has most recently been heard co-hosting a show for "Red Bull: New Year, No Limits"on December 31st, 2009 when Travis Pastrana
jumped from the Long Beach Pier onto a moving barge in front of 75,000 on lookers and LIVE in over 170 countries. This was the 2nd time Kimberly had taken part in a Red Bull New Years Eve event, the previous time was in 2007.
She has been featured in a number of national magazines including People
magazine and was voted one of Stuff
magazine's “101 Sexiest Women in the World”.
