At least 21 were killed and 60 others were wounded after attacks by suspected al-Qaida members in the city of Tikrit. The first bomb was hidden in a barrel next to a mosque inside a supposedly secure government complex. The device exploded as several prominent regional figures were leaving Friday prayers. Ten hours after the initial attack, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the emergency room of a hospital treating the wounded. The second blast killed at least 5 and wounded many more.
