Thus, embassies from countries that do not maintain a separate mission to the Holy See are accredited from Bern and other European capitals.

Embassies to the Holy See usually do not maintain consular sections, allowing their other embassy in Rome or another elsewhere to provide services to those holding passports issued by the Holy See.
