Pipestone Area High School is housed in the same building as the Pipestone Area Middle School (grades 5-8) and the Pipestone Area School District, ISD #2689 administration. A new 197000 square feet (18,301.9 m²) school was opened in January 2003 at the cost of $22.3 million. The new building replaced the old "Central" school, which was more than 80 years old. The current campus is located on Minnesota State Highway 30
